Autumn is appearing more rapidly than we anticipated. The swallows are gathering on the telephone line, the bracken is starting to turn golden and the evenings are growing ever darker. This makes chasing the resolute stag out of the garden more difficult, as after 8.30pm, we can’t see him! He has taught himself how to cross the cattle grid, much to our astonishment, and is enjoying devastating most of the trees and shrubs!
