Winter Mists.

11/22/2005

Is it just me or are the spokespersons for the U.S.A. becoming ever more crass? On the telly, I watch in total disbelief as President George W makes the most appalling gaffs about goats and Texas whilst addressing a stunned Mongolian audience who are too polite to boo the arse off the stage under a barrage of rotten tomatoes. Only the day before I watched a six foot six storm trooper in camouflage and Kevlar, eyes rudely hidden behind mirrored monster glasses lecture a humble Iraqi, living without the most basic domestic infrastructure, on the benefits of being able to switch cell phone services in the glorious capitalist west. The Iraqi’s only fault being to moan about US forces constantly interrupting what little cell phone coverage is available near his home and business. When will western imperialists realise that the nations of the east had sophisticated civilizations thousands of years before the west. The current foreign policy of the U.S. and the U.K. is a bloody disaster, refusing aid to the African and Indian continents, however, dropping bombs on, and then invading everyone else. The final irony is that the U.K. will be alone in being dependant on gas for almost half its electricity generation, supplied from the Balkans that cannot be pumped in mega sub zero temperatures when we need it. But also the countries of source will protect their own supplies and many would like nothing better than to turn the tap off completely. Needless to say, while that corrupt power crazed idiot, T. Blair Esq. Finally admits that we are years overdue for major (all be it private) investment in nuclear generating technology. The French with 80% of their electricity secure from foreign interruption are commissioning five additional government funded nuclear power stations along the Channel coast to sell electricity to the U.K. Forget the cash cost of such power, just imagine the political power of the Franco-hand hovering over the “off” switch when next we discuss the common agricultural policy, or Britain’s immigration policy. Wake up Britain we are being sold down the river, and having our nose up the American **** will not help us. Yours in disgust, Archie, The Baron Trollaigh.

Here in Glen Trollaigh cold winter fog surrounds us with not enough low sun to burn it away. Little stirs in the cold, Lachie drives six fine tups through the billowing mist to new grazing, what apart we are.
